|Summary||0001808: using middle mouse button causes all clicks to be ignored|
|Description||Everything works fine until I press the middle button (not sure if that's yellow or blue; not the one that brings up the halo). The menu that's supposed to pop up does, but after that Squeak won't respond to any mouse clicks at all. At this point pressing the various modifier keys will usually act as a middle click, but too inconsistently for me to discern any pattern. Saving the image in this state saves the problem.|

I've been using squeak on a OS9.1 mac with a 3 button contour mouse.
All buttons filtered thru contour overdrive(i.e they are sent to squeak with the appropriate cmd/option keys pressed. And I have not experienced the problems you are having.
The button you are describing is the "yellow" one (option-button).
Halo is blue (cmd-button) .
>The menu that's supposed to pop up does, but after that Squeak won't respond to any mouse clicks at all.
Please describe this more precisely. Does the cursor respond to mouse movement. When you say click what precisely do you mean?
Click as in mouse-down then mouse-up?
Or click as in mouse-down.
Or click as in mouse-up.
>At this point pressing the various modifier keys will usually act as a middle click.
Is the mouse down or up when you are doing this modifier key pressing.
What happens when you use the option-red button sequence. That should stand in for the middle-button. (the red button is the left one I believe.) Does that work while the actual midde button does not.
Try that again and describe precisely the sequence and response that you
get. The relevant modifier should be the option-key.
If you want to help and be helped with bug reports precise and accurate information is the best way to do so.
Yours in ser vice --(wiz) Jerome Peace.
P.S. This may or may not relate to mantis 0001567 (which focuses on doubleclicks but has some possibly useful diagnostic tools.
