|0003733||[Squeak] Sound||minor||always||05-28-06 08:22||05-28-06 08:22|
|Summary||0003733: [limitation] ScorePlayer will only look for .mid files in "squeak" directory.|
For this one
from the "<>" menu select read midi file.
The usual response will for me is "no .mid/.midi" files found in squeak directory.
If I put a midi file into the directory containing my squeak image it will show up in the list.
If I put it in the directory with the vm (and sources) it will not.
It seems to me in this day and age the file read should be hooked up to something that really knows how to look for files.
Also the "<>" is all too cryptic. If I wasn't determinedly playing around I would not have guessed to find the file stuff there.
This is marked minor because it is a long standing limitation. But if you want to use this feature you would condsider it a major limitation.
(Unless of course you keep all your images in one big directory with everything.
As an alpha surfer I have found that having each squeak version in its own directory with a link to the directory of common stuff pretty useful for maintaining some order and sanity.
I keep the non-changing vm and sources in their own directory.
