|0006539||[Croquet] Hedgehog||minor||always||06-17-07 13:32||06-17-07 13:32|
|Summary||0006539: K* code: Movenments (operations in space etc.) are not smooth in default 'useHighTrafficDrive:=false' mode.|
This bug is related only to Wisconsin and K* classes related code.
1.Movements(avatar, operations in space etc.) are not smooth, while using 'useHighTrafficDrive := false' mode (default in KAT for now).
2.There is no opportunity of using 'useHighTrafficDrive := true' mode, as "CroquetHarness #renderWorld" fails.
It is disclosed when more then one machine are participating in KAT demo.
All participants has high-end machines (so no lack of performance).
Every short period of time (less then 1 sec) the every movement in space (for example: moving of avatar, or spinning of TWindow etc.) is delayed for notably by eye delay. The same thing is observed also when two or more images(with KAT demo) are running at one machine.
If we change the setting to 'true'
^HighTrafficDrive isNil "notNil"
everything works ok(all movements are smooth on all network participants).
CroquetHarness>> #renderWorld method fails as of endless delay on
"avatar addToNewSpace: self activeSpace" line.
The one way to break the delay - is to refresh the SqueakVM OS window(resize or minimise with button) and then everything works fine.
