Summary 0007315: In 090213-0428-build coders initials are preset to kph
Description In 090213-0428-build coders initials are preset to kph

This would seem to indicate that something in the cleanup process has been broken.

Usually I will be asked for my initials whenever I restart an image.

It was disconcerting to load a project and find as I edited my work the code was tagged wrong.

This while a trivial bug, is a show stopper for me developing in the build image.

Sort of like a doctor leaving a scalpel inside a patient.

Additional Information The expectation is that initials will be asked for the first time an edit is accepted. This goes against that expectation.

It will lead to a deceptive audit trail.

(And keith will be blamed for more than his own bugs :)

Yours in curiosity and service, --Jerome Peace

P.S. I assign this to keith cause they were his initials.

There are two or three issues here.

1) One of the #cleanUp tasks that is responsible for preparing a release for release is actually asking for the initials!

2) Secondly the image is supposed to automatically reset the initials if it detects that it has been started on a new machine. This isnt happening.

3) It was observed in one case that although the initials were set to empty string, they still showed up, indicating that some cache of the initials value had not been cleared. At the time this was treated as an anomoly, but it could be a recurring problem.

Jerome, thanks for the report.

Hi Keith,
Your welcome.

The context in which I came across the problem was that I had just loaded a project.

Get a fresh image.
Load my current project. (This is how I do development. Saving the project then quiting the image w/o saving.)

When I changed from the basic sq 7179 to your build version the behavior changed.

Every time I loaded the project afresh in the basic image,
as soon as I modify code I will be asked for my initials.
New projects the same way.

In the build image the initials never get ask for and save code is time stamped with kph.
So I can't do development in the image but need to do it in the older image.

The reason for doing the development in the build image is to causally observe bugs. So let me know when you fix this problem.

It seems to me that loading a project should always clear out the initials at least for that project.

If you have a good work around (The phrase the clears the initials please post it here.)

Cheers - Jer
