|Summary||0007551: A strange menu focus infinitely looping on mouse event observed.|
This is so far one for the journal of irreproducible results.
I mention it here because I observed it once and somebody else might observe something similar.
The cursor is over a workspace window. The world menu is appearing then disappearing repeatedly. The cursor being just on the edge of the menu.
I have a squeak #9956 running on a 'myDir/Squeak-18.104.22.1682-linux_i386/bin/squeak'.
I had it open and was working on a project not involving any major changes.
I left the project at a stopping point and went to walk the dog.
Coming back I see the fascinating phenomenon.
I moved the cursor around. Clicked it a bit. The infinite menu behavior remained.
Finally I hit alt-. Which stopped the vascilation. Notably the first alt-. did NOT bring up a predubug window. It only stopped the infinite loop.
The second press or alt-. did get a predebug window.
There is possibly a focus bug being demonstrated here. The event goes to something which calls up the menu changing the focus. Then the menu gets the same event causing the menu to be released (or vice versa). Each invocation is changing the focus and restarting an event handling.
Menus have a bug where they don't release focus just because the mouse in no longer over the menu. This may have been involved to.
Anyway this is just a data point. Its left as a bread crumb to help the next curious bug tracker.
