Summary 0000488: Unreasonable CPU usage
Description I have a basic page derived from the "First Steps" page.
At this point, my CPU usage is basically zero.

I then created a hello space example as described at
  http://www.dmu.com/croquet/cr4.html [^]
If this space is visible, the CPU time goes immediately to
100% - even if I make no interaction with the display. If I
switch back to the "previous project", CPU time goes back
to zero.

Needless to say, this is unacceptable behavior. CPU usage
should be based on interaction with the model - not just
visibility.

This is *not* unacceptable behavior. Visibility causes the object to be rendered once per frame, non visible objects are not rendered. Objects consume CPU whether you interact with them or not, and rendering can be very expensive. You might want to run a message profile on the code that renders your objects, to determine if there is some very slow rendering operation in them.
